Artist Diploma - Anne-Lise Polchlopek

20:15 Music Chapel, Haas-Teichen Studio

With ‘Gracias a la vida’ as her universal anthem, mezzo-soprano Anne-Lise Polchlopek has lovingly devised a programme that brings together different latitudes, different temporalities and different registers, like so many facets that make up her musical personality. Lullabies, dances, laments, declarations of love… so many subjects tying together popular and learned music in a plural ‘ideal recital’… ‘If part of my identity is Slavic, part of my identity is Slavic’… If part of my identity is Slavic, the other is more Mediterranean: my grandmother, a pied-noir, spoke French to me, mixed with Spanish and Arabic words. With this heritage, I lived in Madrid… a journey without which I would not be a singer today’, she explains, happily letting Fauré rub shoulders with Messiaen, Chaminade tease Mozart, Giménez laugh at Poulenc and Ravel respond to Jacques Brel. This programme is like a big love letter, simply saying THANK YOU.
