Lodging

Living at the Music Chapel means much more than simply having accommodation just steps away from the spaces where you practise, rehearse and perform. It means living at the heart of artistic life, sharing the daily life of a community of musicians and benefiting from an environment designed to enable artists to work in the best possible conditions.

The Music Chapel allows its Artists in residence to live on site throughout the season or on an occasional basis.

Lodging options

Two types of accommodation are available:

  • On the historic Music Chapel site, Artists in residence have access to fully equipped, soundproofed individual studios, allowing them to practise their instrument at any time. Each studio includes a private bathroom, a bed, a small refrigerator, furniture and a Yamaha C2X piano. Artists also have access to a fully equipped shared kitchen.

A hot lunch is served every weekday, and on concert evenings, a hot dinner is also available on site. Dry goods are provided for breakfast and dinner; artists are free to supplement these with their own fresh produce.

  • At the Manoir of Argenteuil, artists stay in rooms offering a more spacious and peaceful living environment. Artists have private rooms with an individual bathroom (most with a bathtub), a double bed, storage space, a desk and an armchair. Shared spaces include a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and work rooms accessible at all times.

To preserve the tranquillity of the site, rooms at Argenteuil generally do not have an individual piano. Pianists can, however, request a Master Room, which includes an additional workspace equipped with a silent piano.
A breakfast buffet is available every morning at Argenteuil; lunch is served at the Music Chapel on weekdays, and dinner is served on concert evenings.

The two sites are connected by a 2.5 km public road and an 800-metre private walking path. On foot, the journey takes around 15 minutes; by electric bike or electric buggy, around 6 minutes; and by car, around 5 minutes. Artists can therefore freely choose where they live while remaining fully connected to campus life.

Free shuttles are available between the Music Chapel and Waterloo station several times a day during the week.

Long-term lodging

Each year in the spring, Artists in residence can apply for accommodation to live at the Music Chapel or Argenteuil during the next season. New Artists in residence are guided through the process after their selection.

Places are limited!

The Management Team allocates the studios and rooms by the end of June, based on objective criteria (such as distance from country of origin, expected presence on site and, for renewals, care of the facilities and regular payment history.

Short-term accommodation
