Belgian Rising Talents

A stepping-stone programme for Belgian artists

From the 2027–2028 season onwards, the Music Chapel will offer a new preparatory programme supporting young Belgian musicians in their artistic and technical development. The aim is to prepare them, under the best possible conditions, for the entrance auditions to the Music Chapel’s Artist Diploma programme.

The programme will give promising young talents access to high-level guidance while allowing them, if they wish, to pursue another course of study alongside the programme.

For the 2027–2028 academic year, a maximum of four artists will be admitted across all sections, with the exception of chamber music.

The programme will run from early September to the end of June.

At the artist’s request and with the Music Chapel’s approval, a second year may be considered.

Eligibility requirements

The programme is open to young artists who:

  • Are Belgian nationals, or are domiciled in Belgium and have received their long-term artistic training at a Belgian institution.
  • Are aged between 16 and 24.
  • Can demonstrate an artistic level equivalent to a Master’s degree. No degree is required: only artistic level is assessed.

Minor candidates may only be admitted as day students.

Programme content

The programme includes, in particular:

  • Two lessons per month (instrument or voice) with the Master in residence and professors/coaches
  • A chamber music project and coaching, depending on the artist’s profile
  • Access, as an auditor, to private and public masterclasses led by Artists in residence (Masters in residence and Guest Masters)
  • Access to workshops, subject to availability
  • Participation in Community and Surprise concerts, as well as other concerts of a similar nature
  • Access to all concerts as an audience member

The programme is not a full-time course of study. It is designed to be compatible with higher education or another artistic programme pursued alongside it.
