The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel is committed to offering a unique framework for artistic and human development:
- a tailor-made relationship of strong transmission and companionship between Masters and Artists in residence
- numerous on-stage performance opportunities
- outstanding facilities in the heart of a century-old park, a true haven of concentration
- a committed team; a stimulating, close-knit community.
Maintaining this vision of excellence requires a significant investment each year.
Training fees
Thanks to the support of its community of patrons, foundations, sponsors and public partners, the Music Chapel covers 50% of the actual cost of the artists’ training from the outset.
The remaining personal contribution is adapted to each individual situation, according to the following annual scale:
- €20,000: full rate
- €7,500: reduced rate
- €0: full exemption from training costs
Each artist is also required to pay a €1,000 administrative fee per academic year, to help manage his or her training throughout the year.
Scholarships
Thanks to the generous support of patrons, grants of €12,500 or €20,000 are awarded following a scholarship applications, to ensure that no artist is prevented from coming to the Music Chapel for financial reasons.
To achieve this vision, the Music Chapel has built a model based on trust, responsibility – both individual and collective – and solidarity. These values are integral to the pedagogical project.
Artists in residence are asked to contribute to this collective effort according to their means, which enables the Music Chapel to continue to exist and focus on transmission to future generations of artists who aspire to the highest level of excellence.
Applying for a scholarship is no trivial matter. The scholarship application must be completed carefully and honestly. Any attempted fraud could lead to exclusion from the Music Chapel.
Please note that you can also apply for funding from other institutions, such as government grants in some countries or grants from private institutions such as BAEF (USA), Vocatio (Belgium) or Adami (France).
Lodging fees
Artists in residence may request a studio at the Music Chapel.
Our bright studios offer a peaceful view of the forest, a source of inspiration right outside the building. When living on site, artists join a lively community of musicians, where encounters and improvised musical sessions enrich artists’ careers and forge lasting friendships.
Please note that places are limited!
The Management Committee decides on the allocation of studios for the coming academic year at the beginning of the summer, based on objective criteria (e.g. distance from country of origin, expected presence on site; respect for the infrastructure and regularity of payments in case of renewals, etc.).
