Beyond Training
Shape your path. Build your career.
At the Music Chapel, artistic excellence is only the starting point. Through a long-term artist residency, we support each artists in shaping their own path, deepening their musical identity and finding their place in the classical music world.
There is no predefined path, whether in our flagship Artist Diploma programme or in the preparatory Belgian Rising Talents programme. Each Artist in residence follows a trajectory shaped around their personality, aspirations and artistic project.
The Music Chapel’s promise is simple: to give each artist the time, focus, artistic encounters, stage experience and support they need to become the artist they aspire to be.
Mentorship at the heart of the residency
Companionship with Masters in residence is at the heart of the Music Chapel’s approach.
They are all leading artists with active international careers. Their role goes beyond transmitting musical or technical knowledge. They guide young artists throughout their development, share their professional experience and support them as they take their first steps into professional life — from preparing for competitions to recording albums and more.
This relationship develops over time. It takes shape through lessons, conversations and daily work, but also through shared artistic experiences. Masters and Artists in residence regularly meet on stage, particularly in chamber music projects.
The Music Chapel also welcomes leading Guest Masters, who give private and public masterclasses, workshops and coaching sessions, and perform alongside our Artists in residence in our concert hall.
It is this close, long-term relationship and exchange that gives mentorship its full meaning. Our artists experience it every day, both in the flagship Artist Diploma programme and in the preparatory Belgian Rising Talents programme.
A new campus, opening up new possibilities
From September 2026, the Argenteuil Music Estate opens a new chapter for Artists in residence. Located just a short distance from the historic site, it makes it possible to create a truly international music campus. The Argenteuil Music Estate doubles the accommodation capacity for artists and enables the artistic programme to become more intensive and diverse: more masterclasses, lessons, rehearsals and collaborations, but also more time and space to work together. The artists in the Music Chapel’s six sections — violin, piano, cello, voice, viola and chamber music — will have more opportunities to connect and develop joint projects.
More than a new space, the Argenteuil Music Estate creates new possibilities: a learning environment where musical excellence can engage with other disciplines, other forms of knowledge and other ways of being an artist. All this in a remarkable natural setting of 136 hectares of woodland, meadows and ponds on the edge of the Sonian Forest.
Living at the Music Chapel
The Music Chapel offers its Artists in residence the possibility of staying on site, either for shorter periods or throughout the season. Living at the Music Chapel means much more than having accommodation just steps away from your workplace. It means being at the heart of artistic life, sharing the daily life of a community of musicians and benefiting from an environment designed to give artists the best possible conditions in which to work.
At the historic Music Chapel site, Artists in residence have fully equipped, soundproofed individual studios. With the development of activities at the Argenteuil Music Estate, artists now have a second accommodation option. The rooms at the Manoir of Argenteuil offer a more spacious and peaceful living environment.
Applications for the 2027-2028 season are open until December 4, 2026.
