Artist Diploma - Michiaki Ueno

New Year's Concert

20:15 Music Chapel, Haas-Teichen Studio

There is something profoundly moving about Baroque music: it has a pure, universal emotion. Unlike ‘philosophical’ music, baroque music communicates simply and directly. It offers a freedom of interpretation that allows each musician to find his or her own way. In this programme, I hope to share the appeal of these Baroque masterpieces, as well as the works of later composers who were inspired by this music. Like them, I hope to develop my own musical path, drawing on the knowledge and artistry I have acquired from my Masters and the great musicians of the past. Finally, I am extremely grateful to my two mentors, who have inspired me throughout my studies, and to Gary Hoffman for joining me for the Vivaldi Double Concerto.
