Employer: The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, located in Waterloo, is a centre of excellence and a professional springboard for international artists in the field of classical music. The Music Chapel organises a season of 90 concerts on site and collaborates with numerous other concert venues (www.musicchapel.org).

Position: Director Human Resources

Type: Half-time contract of indefinite duration.

Profile:

  • You have a Master’s degree in human resources management, law, management or workplace and organisational psychology, or you have significant experience in a management position in human resources.
  • You have 10 to 15 years’ experience as an HR generalist, including a significant period as an HR leader or director.
  • You are fluent in French, Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • You are recognised for your skills in strategic development, change management and supporting organisational growth.
  • You are a proven strategic partner, able to work closely with senior management and contribute to high-level decision-making.
  • You will have proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies tailored to the specific needs of the organisation.
  • You are an inspirational leader, capable of managing an HR team if necessary and of mobilising all employees around the values and objectives of the organisation.
  • You have a good command of the Microsoft Office suite and integrated HR systems.

Tasks:

  • Developing, implementing and overseeing HR strategy in line with the organisation’s overall vision.
  • Actively participate in the Executive Committee as a strategic partner to the other Directors and the CEO, providing HR expertise in the organisation’s strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a positive corporate culture, aligned with the organisation’s values and objectives.
  • Managing relations with staff, ensuring a harmonious social climate and steering talent management processes (recruitment, development, retention).
  • Manage all operational HR activities: personnel file management, fringe benefits, leave requests, medical examinations, etc.
  • Supporting and advising managers in the management of their teams, particularly in terms of skills development, performance management and succession planning.
  • Leading cross-functional projects relating to human resources development, particularly in the areas of training, well-being at work and career management.
  • Ensuring that HR practices comply with legal requirements and current certifications.
  • Working closely with the artistic department to ensure the welcome and well-being of resident artists, taking into account their specific needs.
