MuCH Surprise!

In our weekly MuCH Surprise concerts, our artists are usually given carte blanche to explore their own repertoire. Today, however, we are stepping off the classical path for a very special project: the restitution of a workshop held with the ToiMoiNous collective.

Music as a Bridge to Empowerment

No traditional concert setup today, but rather a stage shared by our Artists in residence and a group of enthusiastic citizens. Together with coach Mark Withers, they have been working on a creative process where interaction and dialogue take center stage.

This project is part of our broader Outreach mission. We believe that art and culture are levers for social change. By breaking down invisible barriers and using music as a tool for connection, we create a space where everyone is heard.

About ToiMoiNous

The ToiMoiNous collective is a unique Waterloo initiative that brings together citizens, the Cultural Center, and numerous social organizations (such as Espace Convivial, Maison des Jeunes, the Red Cross, and others). Their philosophy? Co-construction. Working with people, rather than for them.

During this MuCH Surprise, you will see the result of this philosophy: a moment of collective intelligence and creation, where the boundary between professional musicians and young citizens fades away.
