Artist Diploma - Karen Su

20:15 Music Chapel, Haas-Teichen Studio

My Artist Diploma presents a magnificent programme representing my musical journey in three parts. I always heard my father play Vitali’s Chaconne when I was a child. An essential piece in my father’s repertoire that I had never played myself. Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante represents those 4 extraordinary years when I learnt an incredible amount about myself and about music. This piece is an indelible memory and one of my favourite concerts. Finally, to represent my time after the Music Chapel, I chose Kreisler’s Tambourin Chinois. It’s a piece I’ve always wanted to play ever since I first heard it. It contains elements of excitement and celebration, as well as melancholy and remembrance, which makes a wonderful conclusion to my residency at the Music Chapel.
