We invite audiences of all ages to a special film experience at the Music Chapel: three irresistible silent films by Charlie Chaplin, accompanied live on piano by Philippe Marion, who improvises on the spot, just like in early cinema.
These three Chaplin shorts, from his Mutual Film Corporation period (1916-1917), are often considered his most creative and comedic years. These films are full of physical humor, visual surprises, and heartwarming moments that still delight viewers today.

Chaplin plays a man coming home after a night out, battling his own furniture in a masterpiece of physical comedy — Chaplin is the only actor in this film.

🎞️ The Adventurer

An escaped convict who accidentally becomes a hero, Chaplin switches swiftly between slapstick and emotion — a rollercoaster of chases, misunderstandings, and charm.

🎞️ The Rink

Chaplin shines as a waiter and talented roller skater, combining his classic clumsiness with surprising elegance on wheels.
During the screening, Philippe Marion not only performs live piano improvisation but also shares accessible insights about the films and the era they were made in. Discover the beginnings of cinema, the role of music in silent films, and Chaplin’s unique talent.
