Le rossignol et l'empereur de Chine

Les Jeunesses Musicales

11:30 Music Chapel, Haas Teichen Studio

A musical and poetic tale set in ancient China. (FR)

A multidisciplinary performance combining contemporary music, theatre, and visual arts, “The Nightingale and the Emperor” offers, from the very first notes, an immersive journey into the imaginary world of ancient China. Building on the original text by Hans Christian Andersen, the harp and flute intertwine and brilliantly perform Lionel Bord’s musical score (1976, France), evoking the enchanting song of the nightingale.

A story of the struggle between life and death, the fleeting and the eternal, poetic illusion and reality, this sensitive fable also subtly raises the question of the place of the artist and of live art in our society.
