For as long as I can remember, the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff has filled my soul with overwhelming emotion and a feeling of freedom—spreading my wings like a firebird. His music has been a constant companion on my journey, and over the years, I’ve often found myself alone in concert halls around the world, including this very one, playing his works, uncovering new layers, and feeling deeply connected to his spirit.
This program is a personal homage to a composer and pianist whose emotional depth, lyrical simplicity, and virtuosity continue to inspire and challenge me. I wanted to share the many facets of Rachmaninoff—from his profound melancholy to his soaring passion—in the space that has been both a home and a sanctuary during my time at the Chapelle. It is here that I truly learned to embrace and accept the quiet strength of staying true to oneself in a world so full of noise.
