Margo Jacquart

soprano

Belgian soprano Margo Jacquart began studying music at the age of six at the music academy in Dinant, where she learned piano and sang in a choir. After completing her piano studies at eighteen, she turned to classical singing at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles while also studying French literature at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

At the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, she earned first prizes for both her bachelor’s and master’s studies in Christine Solhosse’s class. She also studied with Inge Spinette at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and with Carola Guber at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig. She went on to work with Elise Gäbele and Sophie Karthäuser at IMEP in Namur.

Her work spans German lieder, French song and opera. Her interest in the relationship between words and music led her to the Wigmore French Song Exchange, through which she performed at Wigmore Hall in London and the Salle Cortot in Paris. She also took part in the Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses, working with artists including Anne Schwanewilms, Roger Vignoles, Christoph Prégardien and Anne Sofie von Otter.

On stage, Margo Jacquart has sung Rosina in La finta semplice, and Pamina and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte. At La Monnaie / De Munt, she sang the Principessa in Respighi’s La bella dormente nel bosco and the Princesse and the Bergère in a production of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges presented at Bozar. At the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, she appeared as Suor Genovieffa and Suor Dolcina in Puccini’s Suor Angelica.

Her awards include Third Prize, the Musique & Vie Prize, at the Concours international d’art lyrique de Namur – Jodie Devos; Second Prize at the Internationaler Louis-Spohr-Wettbewerb für Gesang in Kassel; and the Förderpreis des Lionsclub Torgau at the Internationale Sächsische Sängerakademie Torgau. She also received the Prix jeune espoir at the international singing competition organised by Vienne en Voix in Vivonne.

In the 2026–2027 season, she joins the Académie Favart at the Opéra-Comique in Paris and sings Sunny in Laura Kaminsky’s Lucidity at La Monnaie / De Munt.

In 2026, Margo Jacquart joined the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel as an Artist in residence, under the direction of Sophie Koch and Stéphane Degout.
