French pianist Mirabelle Kajenjeri has been described by La Libre Belgique as having a “unique touch, effortlessly mastering the most demanding acrobatics with a (discreet) smile, and disarming naturalness and generosity.”
In September 2022, her debut album Étincelles was released in collaboration with the label KNS Classical.
Born in 1998 to Burundian and Ukrainian parents, she has had the opportunity to highlight this singular cultural background as an invited speaker at TEDxRoubaix, an event with international reach.
Her talent has been recognised and rewarded at numerous international competitions, including First Prize at the Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition in Porto (2021), Second Prize at the Kissinger KlavierOlymp in Bad Kissingen (2023), a semi-final placement at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv (2023), as well as her title of laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition (2025).
She has received scholarships from foundations such as the Fondation Gautier Capuçon (2024), Fondation Safran (2023), the Wilhelm Kempff Foundation (2022), the Lieven Piano Foundation Vienna (2021), the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation (2020), and the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now programme (2019).
Mirabelle Kajenjeri performs regularly across Europe at festivals including Flagey Piano Days, Lille Piano Festival, Festival Piano Campus, Festivals de Wallonie and Kissinger Sommer, and collaborates with orchestras such as the Orchestre de Picardie, the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese, the Brandenburgische Staatsorchester Frankfurt and the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa. In 2025, she made her debut at the Berliner Philharmonie with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, conducted by Tianyi Lu.
Alongside her concert career, she is actively involved in music outreach programmes for children and young people, and also performs at corporate and institutional events.
She graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, where she studied with Anna Malikova, Ewa Kupiec, Mikhaïl Faerman and Vladimir Soultanov. Her introduction to the piano at the age of five was guided by Natalia Grebennikova in Kyiv.
Having also studied the violin since childhood, Mirabelle obtained her Bachelor’s degree in violin in 2018 from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles with high distinction, simultaneously with her Bachelor’s degree in piano. Her teachers included Lorenzo Gatto, Olga Zolotareva, Ning Kam and Elizabeth Degrenand.
During her time at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Mirabelle benefits from a scholarship provided by a generous anonymous donor. Since September 2024, Mirabelle has been an Artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, under the direction of Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
