Isaline Leloup, double bass

A professional double bass player for many years, Isaline Leloup has always had a passion for different musical styles. After obtaining a
master’s degree in classical double bass in 2012 in the class of Christian Van der Borght at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels,
she obtained her teaching diploma the following year. She then perfected her training by obtaining a postgraduate degree on orchestral
work in the class of Korneel Lecompte at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels.

In parallel, Isaline has performed with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, La Monnaie, the Flanders Symphony Orchestra and deFilharmonie in Antwerp. She is also a member of the chamber orchestra BOHO Players and the double
bass quartet The Bass Stop Quartet.

For a few years now, she has had a particular interest in performing on period instruments. She learned the violone (bass viol) with
Benoît Vanden Bemden. She also went to France to study the classical-romantic repertoire on early double bass with the members of
the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées de Paris. She not only learned the technical aspects of the instrument, but also researched musical
treatises and carried out stylistic studies.

Today Isaline is pursuing her orchestral career both in Belgium and abroad. She regularly participates in collaborations with the young artists of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.
