Vahan Mardirossian honors our Belgian composers.

The Walloon composer Joseph Gehot (Brussels, 1756 – USA, 1820), a virtuoso violinist and contemporary of Mozart, distinguished himself at an early age at the court of Charles of Lorraine. In London, in 1792, he played at the Professional Concerts under the direction of Joseph Haydn and his pupil, Ignace Pleyel. Haydn’s recommendations opened the doors to America, where his career literally exploded: he founded schools there and played on the greatest stages!
