“I’ve been fascinated by Benny Goodman’s personality from an early age. That unique way of bringing together jazz and classical music with a radiant simplicity immediately made me think he had ‘invented’ universal music. This recording and these concerts are for me the most beautiful tribute by combining his greatest jazz successes with work dedicated to him by his friends Copland, Gershwin, Bernstein, and Bartók”.
Pierre Génisson

In line with his recording A Benny Goodman Story, Pierre Génisson follows in the footsteps of the
clarinetist and conductor from Chicago. Much more than a figure from the Swing Music,
Benny Goodman distinguished himself as an interpreter of his contemporaries (Copland, Bernstein, as well as Bartók); an openness of mind around music as a universal value, praised by a great
part of the next generations.
