My journey at the Chapelle started four years ago, and it’s been a long journey, because I think I’ve changed a lot as an artist, and it gave me a lot for my life, as a person. It’s really something that I will remember for the rest of my life, and I hope to be back again at some point.
To the audience who is watching the concert, I would like to express my love for all of you and hope that you will stay safe and never give up your dreams. Even through the screen, I feel that we share together our love for music and for art.
Artist Diplomas are more than just concerts. If they represent the end of a cycle, they are also an opening towards new horizons and, above all, the outcome a musical and artistic identity. These musicians who, year after year, have been developed before your eyes thank you by proposing a project or a program
close to their hearts.
The young pianist Victoria Vassilenko, in residence from 2016 to 2019 at the Music Chapel under the tutelage of Louis Lortie, presents her Artist Diploma. She performs a selection of Debussy‘s Preludes and plunges you into Tchaikovsky‘s fairy-tale world with the Adagio from the “Sleeping Beauty” Suite arranged by Pletnev. Augustin Dumay then shares the stage with her for Schubert‘s Violin Sonata in A minor, op. 137/2, to end with Brahms‘ Piano Trio No. 2 in C major, joined by Ivan Karizna, 5th prize winner of the first edition of the Queen Elisabeth Competition dedicated to the cello. A program not to be missed!
Thanks to Victoria’s sponsor for supporting her development during her years at the Music Chapel.
