Axel Trolese, piano
Born near Rome in 1997, Italian pianist Axel Trolese started to play at the age of five. He then followed the natural path for musicians in Italy, graduating from the Conservatoire of Cremona under Maurizio Baglini. He now lives between Paris, where he graduated from the Conservatoire under Denis Pascal, and Rome, where he is attending the Academy of Santa Cecilia with Benedetto Lupo.
In 2016 he recorded his first album, The Late Debussy: 12 Etudes & 6 Epigraphes Antiques, which was acclaimed by some of the most important newspapers and magazines. After winning the “Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition,” the “Grand Prix Alain Marinaro” and the “Premio Venezia,” he performed in many important European concert halls as a soloist with orchestra and as a chamber musician.
Some of his concerts have been broadcast on some of the most important radios, such as Radio3, France Musique and Venice Classic Radio.
Axel Trolese has appeared in a documentary by ARTE devoted to Italian composer Roffredo Caetani and in the SkyClassica master-class documentary “Inside the music” with Roberto Prosseda. He has also played the main character and the pianist in the short film “Danse Macabre” by Italian director Antonio Bido, which is inspired by Saint-Saëns’s famous symphonic poem.
In September 2019 he entered the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel as artist in residence under the direction of Louis Lortie.
