Alice Sinacori

viola

Born into a family of musicians, violist Alice Sinacori has built a varied career spanning orchestral playing, chamber music, solo performance and teaching. In 2025, she was appointed principal viola of the Netherlands Philharmonic in Amsterdam, following her time at the Concertgebouw Orchestra Academy during the 2023–2024 season.

Chamber music is central to her work. As a member of the Esh Quartet, she took part in the ensemble’s residency at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel during the 2025–2026 season. She also teaches viola at IMEP, the Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie, in Namur.

Her orchestral experience includes the Verbier Festival Orchestra in 2024 and 2025, the European Union Youth Orchestra from 2021 to 2023, and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in 2023. She has also taken part in the academies of La Monnaie and the Belgian National Orchestra, and regularly appears as a guest with other orchestras.

As a soloist, she won First Prize at the Rudolf Barshai International String Competition.

She studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Royal Conservatoire Antwerp, Codarts Rotterdam and the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. She plays a viola by Lorenzo Storioni with a bow by Charles Bazin, both generously on loan from Het Muziekinstrumentenfonds.

Alice Sinacori joined the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel as an Artist in residence in the 2025–2026 season, under the direction of Miguel da Silva and Corina Belcea.
