General Terms and Conditions of Sale
Ticketing
Article 1 – Scope of application
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern the purchase of individual tickets and subscriptions for concerts organised by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.
By placing an order, the purchaser acknowledges having read and unconditionally accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Article 2 – Individual tickets
Individual tickets are valid exclusively for the concert, date and time indicated on the ticket.
All ticket sales are final.
Individual tickets are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and may not be postponed, including in the event that the ticket holder is unable to attend for personal reasons.
Where a concert is sold out and a waiting list has been established, ticket holders who know that they will be unable to attend are invited, as a courtesy to fellow concertgoers, to inform the Ticket Office accordingly. Such notification shall not entitle the ticket holder to any refund, exchange, credit note or postponement.
Article 3 – Subscriptions
A subscription entitles the subscriber to the benefits associated with the subscription package purchased, including the possibility of exchanging concerts that the subscriber is unable to attend.
Subscriptions are non-refundable under all circumstances, including on a partial basis.
Should a subscriber fail to attend one or more concerts included in the subscription, no refund shall be granted in respect of the unused concert(s).
Entitlement to the benefits of a subscription is conditional upon its purchase and full payment at the time of purchase. Accordingly, payment by instalments, deferred payment or payment on a concert-by-concert basis is not permitted.
Only one subscription may be purchased per person and per artistic season, regardless of the subscription plan selected.
A subscription is personal and entitles its holder to the benefits associated with the selected plan, up to the number of concerts included in that subscription.
A person may not hold multiple subscriptions in order to benefit from subscriber rates beyond the number of concerts included in their subscription. Any additional concerts will be charged at the applicable standard ticket price.
Patrons wishing to attend a greater number of concerts are invited to enquire about the patronage packages offered by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, which may provide access to all concerts organised at its venue.
Article 4 – Preferential rates and cumulative discounts
The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel may offer various preferential rates, discounts or promotional offers, whether permanent or temporary.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, such benefits may not be combined.
Where a customer qualifies for more than one preferential rate or discount, only one reduction shall apply, namely the one that is most advantageous to the customer.
By way of example, the pricing benefits reserved for MuCH Friends patrons may not be combined with temporary promotional offers, such as the Early Bird offer, nor with any other reduced rates offered by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. The most favourable discount shall automatically be applied.
The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel reserves the right to request any supporting documentation required to verify eligibility for a preferential rate.
Article 5 – Subscription concert exchanges
Subscribers may exchange a concert included in their subscription subject to the following conditions:
- the request must be received by the Ticket Office at least twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled start of the concert concerned;
- the request must be submitted by email to tickets@musicchapel.org;
- exchanges are subject to availability;
- the exchange must concern a concert organised by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (excluding concerts presented outside its own venues);
- the replacement concert must take place during the same artistic season;
- no refund, including a partial refund, shall be granted where the replacement concert is of a lower value than the concert originally booked.
Subscribers may make as many exchanges as necessary throughout the season, provided that the above conditions are fulfilled.
Any request received less than twenty-four (24) hours before the concert concerned cannot be processed.
Article 6 – Transfer of tickets
Individual tickets as well as tickets issued as part of a subscription may be transferred free of charge to a third party.
The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel does not carry out identity checks at the entrance to its concerts. Any person presenting a valid ticket bearing a usable QR code shall be admitted to the concert.
The transfer of a ticket shall not give rise to any entitlement to a refund, exchange or modification of the applicable terms and conditions of sale.
For subscribers, the possibility of transferring a ticket to a third party constitutes an alternative to the exchange procedure referred to in Article 5 and shall not affect the conditions governing such exchanges.
Article 7 – Modification or cancellation of a concert
The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel reserves the right to modify the cast, programme, schedule, venue or any other aspect of a concert whenever circumstances so require.
Changes to the cast or programme shall not give rise to any refund.
Where the date of a concert must be changed for reasons beyond the control of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (including, but not limited to, force majeure or the unavailability of an artist or a Master in residence), tickets already issued shall automatically remain valid for the rescheduled performance.
Ticket holders who are unable to attend on the new date may request a refund from the Ticket Office, in accordance with the arrangements communicated to them.
Should a concert be cancelled without the possibility of rescheduling, ticket holders and affected subscribers shall be informed by the Ticket Office of the options available to them, including, where applicable, reimbursement or replacement arrangements.
Article 8 – Late arrival
Out of respect for both the artists and the audience, latecomers may only be admitted at a moment that is compatible with the artistic performance of the concert.
Immediate access to the auditorium and admission to the original reserved seat cannot be guaranteed once the concert has begun.
No refund or exchange shall be granted in the event of late arrival.
Article 9 – Validity of tickets
Each ticket is valid for one person only.
Tickets, whether printed or presented on a smartphone, must be capable of being presented during admission control.
Any reproduction or fraudulent use of a ticket shall render it void.
Article 10 – Right of withdrawal
Pursuant to Article VI.53 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, tickets and subscriptions relating to leisure services provided on a specific date are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal applicable to distance contracts.
Article 11 – Personal data
Personal data provided at the time of purchase shall be processed in accordance with the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel’s Privacy Policy and with the applicable European legislation governing the protection of personal data (GDPR).

Article 13 – Applicable law and jurisdiction
These General Terms and Conditions shall be governed by Belgian law.
Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall fall within the jurisdiction of the Belgian courts.
