Artistic coordinator junior (f,m,x) – Artistic Department

Employer : The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, located in Waterloo, is both a place for advanced training and a springboard for professional integration for international artists in the world of classical music, through its concert season and its many collaborations with other concert venues. Six disciplines are represented: piano, violin, cello, viola, chamber music and opera singing.

Place of supply : Chaussée de Tervuren 445, 1410 Waterloo

Position : Working within the Artistic Department and reporting to the Artistic Director, the artistic coordinator is responsible for coordinating one or more instrumental sections and the resulting artistic projects. The artistic coordinator is also responsible for the administration of these projects.

Employment status : Full-time, open-ended.

Profile

– Organisational skills and a solution-oriented mindset

– An affinity for human contact and dealing with people from different cultures

– Knowledge of classical music and the artistic sector

– Proficiency in IT tools essential (Word, Excel, Outlook)

– Bilingual in French and English. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

– Driving licence

This position requires: listening skills, motivation, autonomy, availability, flexibility and resistance to stress.

Typical tasks

– Coordination of one or more instrumental disciplines: contact person and confidant for artists (mediation), preparation of lesson and rehearsal schedules (young artists in residence and teaching staff), management of instrument loans, etc.

– Administrative follow-up of the teaching aspect: travel, accommodation, finance, administrative documents, entrance auditions, enrolments, etc.

– Coordination and monitoring of artistic projects: budget, monitoring of agreements, organisation of rehearsals, etc.

– Help with artistic programming and coordination of the season and annual festivals (MuCH Waterloo Festival and Music Chapel Festival @flagey)
