Haerim Oh, violin
Born in Daejeon, South Korea, Haerim Oh began studying the violin at the age of four. Recognized for her brilliant and passionate playing, she has won numerous awards, including the Excellent Performance of Virtuoso Pieces and the Final Award at the Munetsugu Angel Violin Competition (2015), a special prize at the Ysaÿe International Music Competition (2022), as well as First Prize at the Ewha Music Competition (2017) and the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition (2021–2022).
She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bucheon Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Teleradio-Moldova, the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, and the New England Conservatory Symphony. In 2012, she was selected to present a solo recital at Kumho Art Hall, and has since participated in numerous festivals, including the Ravinia Steans Institute of Music (2023–2024), the Emirates International Peace Music Festival (8th edition), the SUMMIT Music Festival, the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival.
A passionate and inquisitive musician, she has taken part in several international violin competitions, including the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the Isang Yun International Violin Competition, the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition, and the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians.
Haerim Oh holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory, where she studied with Miriam Fried, before pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma at the Curtis Institute of Music under the guidance of Midori Goto.
She has been Artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel since September 2025, under the direction of Augustin Dumay.
