French pianist Mirabelle Kajenjeri has been praised by La Libre Belgique for her “unique touch, effortlessly navigating the most demanding acrobatics with a (discreet) smile, disarmingly natural and generous.”
In September 2022, her debut album Étincelles was released in collaboration with the label KNS Classical.
Born in 1998 to Burundian and Ukrainian parents, she highlighted this singular cultural background as an invited speaker at TEDxRoubaix, an event with international reach.
Her talent has been recognized and awarded at numerous international competitions, including First Prize at the Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition in Porto (2021), Second Prize at the Kissinger KlavierOlymp in Bad Kissingen (2023), a semi-final place at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv (2023), as well as her title of Lauréate at the Concours Reine Elisabeth – Piano (2025).
She has received scholarships from foundations such as the Fondation Gautier Capuçon (2024), Fondation Safran (2023), the Wilhelm Kempff Foundation (2022), the Lieven Piano Foundation Vienna (2021), the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation (2020), and the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now programme (2019).
Mirabelle Kajenjeri performs regularly across Europe at festivals such as Flagey Piano Days, Lille Piano Festival, Festival Piano Campus, Festivals de Wallonie and Kissinger Sommer, and collaborates with orchestras including the Orchestre de Picardie, the Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese, the Brandenburgische Staatsorchester Frankfurt and the Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa.
In addition to her activities as a concert pianist, she is actively involved in musical outreach programmes for children and young people, and also takes part in corporate events (Ernst & Young).
She graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, studying with Anna Malikova, Ewa Kupiec, Mikhaïl Faerman and Vladimir Soultanov. Her introduction to the piano at the age of five was guided by Natalia Grebennikova in Kyiv.
A multi-talented young artist, she has also nurtured a passion for the violin alongside her pianistic career.
Having studied both instruments since childhood, Mirabelle obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2018 from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles with high distinction, simultaneously with her Bachelor’s degree in piano. Her teachers included Lorenzo Gatto, Olga Zolotareva, Ning Kam and Elizabeth Degrenand.
Since September 2024, Mirabelle has been an Artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, studying with Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
In 2025, Mirabelle distinguished herself by being among the twelve laureates of the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
