Héloïse Houzé, viola

Héloïse Houzé, born in 2001, earned her Master’s degree with honors from the CNSM of Paris in 2022, as well as her ‘Artiste-Interprète’ diploma (post-master’s program) under Jean Sulem in 2024.
She is a laureate of several prizes, including the Prix de la ville de Saint-Jean-de-Luz at the Académie Ravel 2022. She has also received awards at international viola competitions, such as the second prize and the audience prize at the Oskar Nedbal International Viola Competition in Prague in 2023, as well as the Förderpreis at the International Anton Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf. She reached the semifinals at the prestigious Prague Spring International Music Competition (2023) and the Brahms Competition (2024).
She was selected to participate in several renowned international summer academies. For example, she was admitted to the Verbier Academy (2024) and the Perlman Music Program in New York.
As a soloist with orchestra and as a chamber musician, Héloïse performs on various international stages. In 2024, she worked with several composers such as Esa-Pekka Salonen in Paris and Sir George Benjamin on the piece Viola viola, for a concert broadcast on France Musique at the Ravel Festival.
The violist plays a Michele Deconet from 1766 with a bow by Klaus Grünke, generously made available to her by the Boubo-Music Foundation.
Her debut album will be recorded in March 2025 with the Mirare label, supported by Patrick Petit.
Since September 2023, Héloïse has been an Artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, under the direction of Miguel da Silva.
