Charles Castleman, misschien wel de meest actieve uitvoerder/pedagoog ter wereld, was solist bij de orkesten van Philadelphia, Boston, Brisbane, Chicago, Hongkong, Moskou, Mexico-Stad, New York, San Francisco, Seoul en Shanghai. Als viooldocent aan de Frost School of Music van de Universiteit van Miami heeft Charles Castleman talloze masterclasses over de hele wereld gegeven. Hij is de oprichter en directeur van het CASTLEMAN QUARTET PROGRAM, een intensieve en diepgaande opleiding voor solo- en kamermuziekuitvoering. Itzhak Perlman en Yo-Yo Ma hebben er masterclasses gegeven, waarbij M. Ma het programma omschreef als “het beste programma in zijn soort… een oefenterrein voor de kunst van het leven”.
