Mezzocielo is een artistieke performance waarbij onze artiesten klassieke muziek spelen terwijl ze een EEG-neurohoofdband dragen. In realtime vangt het apparaat de hersenactiviteit op, en een software zet deze om in visuele kunst.

Barbara Tillmann is onderzoeksdirecteur bij het CNRS aan het Lyon Neuroscience Research Center. Haar werk heeft bijgedragen aan het aantonen van de gunstige rol van muziek bij de behandeling van bepaalde cognitieve stoornissen. Ze ontving in 2016 de Zilveren Medaille van het CNRS.
