Yu Shao, tenor
Having studied musical education the Shanghai conservatoire under Wu Bo for 4 years, Yu Shao earned a music diploma. The same year, 2008, he opted to go to France to continue his music training. In 2010, he passed the audition for the Radio France choir. In 2011 he passed the voice, music theory and chamber music exams for the diploma in music studies (known by the French acronym “DEM”). En 2012, he was a finalist in the audition for the lyrical workshop of the Paris Opera, then was accepted at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel to study under the direction of José van Dam. For the 2013-2014 academic year, he received a scholarship from Belgacom. In 2013, he understudied the role of Azor of “La dispute” at the Monnaie Opera House in Brussels, then passed the audition at the Chagal Museum for the first Nice Festival.
