Tony Lee, piano

Sydney born pianist Tony Lee has gathered reputation as one of Australia’s finest upcoming young pianists. He has appeared as soloist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Samara Philharmonic Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and given recitals across Europe, China, USA and Australia. Tony is the top prizewinner of ten national and international piano competitions including the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition, Louise Henriette International Piano Competition, Scriabin International Piano Competition (Paris), Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition and the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition among others. Professional training began at the Australian Institute of Music and the National Academy of Music before furthering studies at the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. He completed his BMus in Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium and is currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Performance at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, Norway with Professor Michael Endres.. Since 2014, Tony is artist in residence at the Music Chapel in Belgium under the guidance of Maria João Pires. He receive a scholarship from the Borgerhoff Funds for the academic year 2015/16.

Né à Sydney en Australie, le pianiste Tony Lee s’est bâti une réputation comme l’un des meilleurs jeunes pianistes qui montent. Il s’est produit comme soliste avec les orchestres BBC Philharmonic, Samara Philharmonic, Queensland Symphony, Tasmanian Symphony et New Zealand Symphony. Il a donné des récitals en Europe, aux Etats-Unis, en Chine et en Australie.Tony est le premier lauréat de dix concours nationaux et internationaux, dont le concours Lev Vlassenko, le concours international Louise Henriette, le concours international Scriabin, le concours international Adilia Alieva et le concours de musique Australian Youth Music Competition, parmi d’autres.Il a entamé sa formation professionnelle à l’Australian Institute of Music et à la National Academy of Music avant de continuer ses études au Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory. Il a complété son diplôme des études musicales au Sydney Conservatorium of Music.Depuis 2014, il est artiste en résidence à la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, sous la direction de Maria João Pires. Tony behaalde de belangrijkste prijzen van tien nationale en internationale pianowedstrijden, waaronder de Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition, Louise Henriette International Piano Competition, International Piano Competition A. Scriabin, International Adilia Alieva Piano Competition en de Australian Youth Classical Music Competition, en vele andere.Hij begon zijn professionele opleiding aan het Australian Institute of Music en de Australian National Academy of Music, vooraleer verder te studeren aan de Central Music School van het Conservatorium van Moskou. Hij vervolledigde zijn bacheloropleiding in de Muziek aan het Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Hij studeert sinds 2014 aan de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth, onder leiding van Maria João Pires. Hij geniet van een beurs van het Borgerhoff funds voor het academiejaar  2015/16.
