Autumn has arrived at Music Chapel…

…And with it, a brand new season of concerts for our Artists in residence! The MuCH season has started, and the On Tour season will follow shortly. Let’s discover the concerts outside the Chapel this month.

Abroad

1. Visite d’Etat @Luxembourg: 16.10.2019

At the invitation of Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Their Majesties the King and the Queen of Belgium are making a State Visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from Tuesday 15 October to Thursday 17 October 2019 in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders and the Ministers Presidents of the Communities and Regions.

For this very special occasion, the Music Chapel has been invited to program a concert with its artists. The Associated Artist in residence Júlia Pusker, 5th Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2019, & the Associated Artist Jeong Hyoun Lee, as well as the Master in residence Augustin Dumay are thus performing for the delegations along with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg, conducted by Patrick Davin. They will perform among others, Hubay’s Carmen Fantaisie, Tchaïkovsky’s Pezzo Capriccioso, Dvorák’s Romance in F minor & Ravel’s Tzigane.

1. Community Concerts

The Community Projects chair of  the Music Chapel, created in 2013 with the support of Fondation Futur 21, allows to broaden the field of social applications offered to our soloists in residence. Opening oneself to the other, to other types of audiences and sharing one’s talent: that is the aim of the “Community” axis.

@Hôpital Saint-Michel: 09.10.2019 – 15:00

Our violinist in residence Jeewon Kim will play for the patients of the Saint-Michel hospital on October 9.

@Clinique Sainte-Elisabeth: 11.10.2019 – 15:00

This time, the patients of the Sainte-Elisabeth hospital will have the pleasure to listen to our cellist Guillaume Wang.

@Le Vignoble: 14.10.2019 – 14:45

The residents of the retirement house Le Vignoble in Braine-l’Alleud will welcome the pianist in residence Guillaume Vincent and the violinist Jeewon Kim for a very special concert, with works from J. Brahms & C. Debussy.

2. Concert Series @Maison de la Musique

10.10.2019 – 20:00

This first concert of the season at the Maison de la Musique will welcome several Artists in residence for an eclectic recital. The pianist Guillaume Vincent will play works from J. S. Bach et L. van Beethoven, while the cellist Florian Pons will perform the second Cello sonata from J. Brahms, and the pianist Alexandre Chenorkian will indulge the audience with pieces from J. Haydn, G. Fauré & M. Ravel.

The other concert of the month at the Maison de la Musique will feature the cellist in residence Riana Anthony, accompanied by Dana Protopopescu, for J. Brahms’ first Cello sonata, the Lassus Quartet for F. Schubert’s String quartet in G major & finally the pianist Alexandre Chenorkian, accompanied by our Guest Master in residence Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden for L. van Beethoven’s Concerto in C major

Dedicated to the memory of violist Louis Poulet and painter Danieli, the Maison de la Musique organizes many concerts throughout the year.

4. Concert @Festival de Jodoigne: 20.10.2019 – 11:30

Spread over four days, the Jodoigne Festival will present an attractive line-up, performed by international artists, both talented young musicians and renowned performers. The soloists in residence Alexandre Pascal, Jérémy Garbarg & Guillaume Vincent will indulge the audience with S. Rachmaninov’s Trio Elégiaque in A minor and P. I. Tchaïkovsky’s Trio in A minor.

A great opportunity to listen to our artists in the wonderful settings of the city of Jodoigne!

5. Concert @Nativitas ASBL: 22.10.2019

Leon Blekh, violinist in residence & our soprano Carol-Anne Roussel, accompanied by Philippe Riga, will perform at La Bicoque, the guest house of  Nativitas asbl, a non-profit organization which aims to help people in precarious or isolated situations. Their program will go from J. S. Bach to W. A. Mozart, through J. Massenet & J. Offenbach.
