Ofschoon ze als vrouw nooit een echte muziekcarrière kon uitbouwen, bracht Fanny
ruim 450 werken voort, hoofdzakelijk liederen en pianostukken, maar ook een trio, een kwartet, een ouverture en cantates.
In de Fantaisie, een van haar slechts twee composities voor cello en piano, begeleiden
beide instrumenten elkaar keer op keer, veeleer dan te dialogeren op voet van gelijkheid.
