BBC Radio 3 has announced the latest performers to join its two-year New Generation Artist scheme, which provides broadcast and performance opportunities to ‘new artists from around the globe that Radio 3 believes will be the classical music stars of the future’. The BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Scheme helps to support talented musicians to reach the next stages of their careers and brings some of the world’s most promising new talent to listeners across the UK through BBC Radio 3 broadcasts.
Among the artists for 2014-16 will be two of our Soloists in Residence, the pianist Pavel Kolesnikov, and the violinist Esther Yoo, under the direction of respectively Maria-João Pires and Augustin Dumay.
More than 100 musicians have taken part in the scheme since it was launched in 1999.
