Tonight, October 13th, 2016 at 7 pm in Kioi Hall, Tokyo, on the occasion of the State Visit to Japan of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, there will be a concert in honour of Their Majesties the Emperor and the Empress of Japan, performed by 3 associated artists: Lorenzo Gatto, Yossif Ivanov, Julien Libeer, together with Alexei Moshkov, first violinist of the National Orchestra of BelgiumMihoko Kusama, viola player of the National Orchestra of Belgium and Belgian cellist Marie Hallynck. Tonight’s concert is therefore a true homage to the Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, and performed by a set of highly skilled musicians who directly represent Ysaÿe’s legacy.
This project is presented jointly by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, and the National Orchestra of Belgium. The concert is offered by Belgium to Japan on the occasion of the State Visit  to mark the 150th Anniversary of Friendship between Belgium and Japan.
