Le concerto pour deux pianos de Mendelssohn est une autre oeuvre de jeunesse où se reconnaissent les influences de ses aînés, en particulier de Bach qu’il admirait
tant. Jeunesse, fraîcheur, vitalité, foisonnement : ce sont des impressions laissées par
ce génie précoce qui n’a alors que 15 ans.
Le concerto pour violon quant à lui est sa dernière oeuvre pour soliste et orchestre,
écrite à et montre bien le chemin parcouru, la transition entre deux styles musicaux – classicisme et romantisme. On y retrouve le charme du style.
