Queen Elisabeth Competition 2022

The names of the Music Chapel artists selected for the first round of the Cello Competition revealed

The Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel is honored and delighted by the announcement made by the Queen Elisabeth Competition regarding the candidates selected for the first round of the Cello Competition that will begin on 9 May.

Ten greatly talented young cellists – artists in residence or artists associated with the Chapel – have been selected for this round:
  • Artists currently in residence: Stéphanie Huang (BE), Antonin Musset, Florian Pons and Maxime Quennesson (FR), Zachary Mowitz (US) and Oleksiy Shadrin (UA).
  • Associated artists (alumni): Riana Anthony and Edvard Pogossian (US), Elia Cohen-Weissert (IL-DE) and Ella Van Poucke (NL).
The presence of so many young artists who are or were in residence at the Music Chapel demonstrates the remarkable work done by master in residence Gary Hoffman and his team over the last few years.

We wish all these wonderful talents the best possible experience during this 2nd edition of the Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition, five years after its creation in 2017.
