Music Chapel Gala Concert

After a three-year absence, a canceled 80th-anniversary concert in 2020, and a digital edition in 2021 amid the pandemic, the Music Chapel is delighted to return to Bozar for its traditional Gala Concert in the splendid Henry le Boeuf Hall.

This Gala Concert, attended by HM Queen Paola, Honorary Chair of the Chapel, and HM King Albert II, will once again offer us a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an evening of music with all the partners and friends of the Chapel, an institution with high ambitions for future generations.

Accompanied by the Belgian National Orchestra conducted by James Feddeck, this unmissable event will bring together cellist and master in residence Gary Hoffman and violinist and associated artist Júlia Pusker (5th Prize at the 2019 Queen Elisabeth Competition). They will perform Johannes Brahms’s last orchestral work. In his Double Concerto, the two solo instruments engage in a dialogue and try to outshine each other, like two friends driven by a shared competitive spirit.

In the second half of the evening, cellist Stéphanie Huang will perform Antonin Dvořák’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B Minor, the composer’s last work. A cornerstone of the cello repertoire, it possesses an epic feel tinged with passion and nostalgia.
