Mendelssohn’s concerto for two pianos is another early work where the influences of his elders can be recognized of his elders, in particular Bach whom he admired so much.
he admired so much. Youth, freshness, vitality, abundance are the impressions left by this precocious genius who was then only 15 years old.
The violin concerto is his last work for soloist and last work for soloist and orchestra,
written at and shows well the way traversed, the transition between two musical styles
– classicism and romanticism. One finds there the charm of the style.
