Enjoy the summer with the artists of the Music Chapel!
We are already halfway through summer! While you are taking the time to rest & to enjoy this amazing month of August, come relax and listen to our artists in residence, in Belgium or, why not, during your holidays abroad.
1. Series “Vauxhall Summer” @Vaux-Hall:
For the third year in a row, the Vaux-Hall of Brussels’ parc opens its door during the summer, with an eclectic cultural program & a lot of concerts. The Music Chapel is pleased to collaborate with the Vauxhall Summer for a series of classical music concerts every Saturday evening.
The pianist in residence Lorenzo Bovitutti will perform pieces from L. van Beethoven for this first concert of the month at the Vaux-Hall.
For this second concert, the audience will have the delight to listen to Alexandra Cooreman & Christia Hudziy performing C. Franck’s Sonata in A major, C Saint-Saëns’ Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso & L. van Beethoven’s Sonata in C major.
2. Classissimo Festival @Théâtre Royal du Parc : 05.08.2019 – 20:00
Since 2007, the Classissimo Festival has taken up the bold challenge of offering a high quality program, accessible to all. Each concert brings together great and experienced artists and young musicians whose talent never ceases to impress. Under the sign of celebration and diversity, Classissimo is the essential summer event for lovers of classical music.
Julia Pùsker (violin, 5th Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition) , Alexandra Cooreman (violin), Manuel Vioque Judde (viola), & Christia Hudziy (piano) will thus indulge the audience of the festival with excerpts from Die schöne Müllerin from F. Schubert, as well as the Sonata in E minor from E. Elgar.
3. Festival Midis-Minimes @Conservatoire de Bruxelles : 09.08.2019 – 12:15
Through 35 minutes of daily concert, the Festival Midis-Minimes will retrace for you, in small touches, the time of a summer and for the 33rd time this year, an exciting story: that of music and those who make it.
For this concert, the young violinist in residence Alexandra Cooreman, accompanied by the pianist Christia Hudziy, plays C. Franck’s Sonata in A major & C Saint-Saëns Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso.
4. Festival Musicorum @Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique : 21.08.2019 – 12:15
The Festival Musicorum wants to offer the opportunity to young virtuoso musicians, Belgian and foreign, emerging from the best schools and conservatories, to play in the amazing setting of the brand new hall of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium and to measure themselves against famous classical artists.
The festival welcomes the Trio Sora this August, for an eclectic performance with works from L. van Beethoven & K. Murphy.
5. Festival de l’été Mosan @Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Dinant : 25.08.2019 – 17:00
For many years now, the Festival de l’été Mosan is synonymous with encounters and musical discoveries. Its itinerancy from churches to castles, from barns to gardens, each one more exceptional than the next, criss-crosses one of the most beautiful regions of Wallonia. Architectural discoveries, an amazing and diversified program as well as the quality of the welcome are all invitations to join this summer event.
The cellist in residence Elia Cohen-Weissert, will be the guest of the festival this month, along with the Nuove Musiche orchestra, directed by Eric Lederhandler. They’ll be performing works from P. I. Tchaikovsky & F. Schubert, among others.
6. Lekker Klassiek Festival @Boom : 31.08.2019 – 20:30
The Lekker Klassiek Festival is a unique concept that combines classical music with delicious dishes.On the beautiful domain of the Provinciaal Recreatiedomein De Schorre in Boom, visitors will be able to enjoy the gems of classical music.
The soloists in residence Alexandra Cooreman (violin), Elia Cohen-Weissert (cello), accompanied by the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, conducted by Azis Sadikovic, & Lorenzo Bovitutti (piano) will perform an amazing program, from C. Saint-Saëns’ The Swan to L. van Beethoven’s Symphony in D major for solo piano, through P. I. Tchaïkovsky’s Pezzo Capriccioso, among others.
1. Festival de Sion @Sion : 31.08.2019 -20:00
Since 1964, the Festival de Sion in Switzerland welcomes each year renowned artists, as well as soloists from the Tibor Varga Music Academy, to which it is attached.
Pavel Vernikov, professor at the Academy, will perform this August alongside Miguel da Silva, Master in residence at the Music Chapel, as well as
Julia Pùsker, Amia Janicki, Jane Hyeonjin Cho, Rosalind Ventris, Sofia Silva Soussa, Riana Anthony & Danilo Squitieri, all soloists in residence. They will indulge the audience with J. Brahms String sextet in B-flat major & P.I. Tchaïkovsky’s Souvenir de Florence.
