December is here already, and our artists are closing the year with a lot of exciting projects!

Let’s discover this month’s concerts together…

12.02.2019 – 20:00

Concert Series @Maison de la Musique

For this first concert of the month, the soprano Carol-Anne Roussel & the mezzo-soprano Naomi Couquet, both artists in residence, accompanied by Philippe Riga, the pianists in residence Alex Trolese Lorenzo Bovitutti as well as the Gesut master in residence Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden will perform an eclectic program for the audience of the Maison de la Musique, with works from F. Chopin & W. A. Mozart.
Dedicated to the memory of violist Louis Poulet and painter Danieli, many concerts are organised throughout the year at the Maison de la Musique, where part of Danieli’s work is on display.

Concert Nativitas

Mariona Camats & Guillaume Wang, cellists in residence at the Music Chapel will be in concert for the audience of the non-profit association Nativitas, both accompanied by Dana Protopopescu.
Nativitas is a non-profit organisation that aims to help people in precarious or isolated situations by opening the doors of “La Bicoque”, a day care centre located in the heart of the Marolles.

Music Chapel Festival @Flagey

This year, the 10th edition of the Music Chapel Festival at Flagey will pay a tribute to Eugène Ysaÿe, the King of violin. This festival will immerse listeners in the work of Ysaÿe and of his favorite composers through recitals, chamber
music and concerts with orchestra. The presence of such violinists as Joshua BellRenaud CapuçonAugustin Dumay and Philippe Graffin and of a younger generation of musicians such as Lorenzo GattoKerson Leong and Yossif Ivanov is proof that the musical heritage left by Ysaÿe to generations of violinists is still alive today.
Three orchestras (Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Brussels Philharmonic, Les Métamorphoses), a choir (Octopus) and a large number of artists will complete the program of this festival dedicated to Ysaÿe. They will all shed
new light on Ysaÿe’s music and his influence on the composers of his time: Franck, Fauré, Chausson, Ravel, Lekeu,
Saint-Saëns and many more.

Concert @Saint Petersburg

The Master in residence in the voice section José van Dam will be in Russia, at the International Academy Elena Obraztsova for a masterclass with its students from 12 to 13 December.

12.18.2019 – 17:00

Christmas Concert @Royal Palace

As usual at this time of the year, Their Majesties the King and Queen offer the annual Christmas Concert at the Palais de Bruxelles. The King and Queen would like to thank in particular those who have contributed to the smooth running of the royal activities throughout 2019. The program will feature a lot of artists of the Music Chapel, like the Master in residence Miguel da Silva, the alumni & professor Lorenzo Gatto, or the Associated artist Júlia Pusker, among others.
They offer a musical program around the Christmas theme, with compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn.
This concert is a private event, upon invitation only.

Concert @Ligue Braille

Zachary Mowitz, cello & Lorenzo Bovitutti, piano will be the guests of Ligue Braille for an amazing recital with works from Prokofiev, Beethoven or Bach among others.
The Ligue Braille aims to help & support the blind and partially sighted people in every aspects of their lives.

Concert @Saint-Luc

The violinist in residence Leon Blekh as well as the cellist in residence Maxime Quennesson will offer two concerts to the patients of Saint-Luc hospital in Brussels. Their program will go from Bach to Piatti, through Shostakovitch or Strauss.

Concert @ Retirement house Vivalys

The cellist in residence Mariona Camats will indulge the residents of the retirement home Vivalys with an afternoon recital.
