Jérémy Garbarg, cello

As the 2019 ADAMI Classical Music Revelation, Jérémy Garbarg embodies the new generation of French cello playing. He has won third prize and the audience prize at the international Brahms (Austria) and Viña del Mar (Chile) competitions. He was awarded first prize with Consonance Duo at the International Competition of Milan’s Societa Umanitaria. He is also a laureate of the Fondation Banque Populaire.

He has appeared in a range of media: Medici.tv, Dakapp, France Musique, Le Violoncelle, La Lettre du Musicien, TSF Jazz, etc.

He is a regular guest of the Centre de Musique de Chambre de Paris, as well as of the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy, and festivals such as Prades-Casals, Palazzetto Bru Zane, Rencontres de Bélaye, Festival Européen Jeunes Talents, Grands Crus de Bourgogne, Rencontres Franco-américaines, Ysaÿe’s Knokke, etc.

Jérémy Garbarg has been artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Musical Chapel since 2018, under the guidance of Gary Hoffman and Jeroen Reuling. He is honing his skills in Gautier Capuçon’s “Class of Excellence”, and benefits from the advice offered by Jérôme Pernoo and François Salque.

He plays a cello manufactured by Frank Ravatin with a rare bow created by François Peccatte. He is supported by ADAMI, the Safran Foundation and the Fondation L’Or du Rhin.
