Guillaume Vincent, piano
Guillaume Vincent was born in 1991 in Annecy. He began studying the piano at age 7 and at age 13 he entered the Conservatoire of Paris where he studied under Jacques Rouvier, Prisca Benoit, Jean-François Heisser and Marie-Josèphe Jude. At age 18 he obtained his master’s in piano and at age 19 his master’s as a performer. A laureate of the Prix Drouet-Bourgeois in 2006, he won first prize at the Young Concert Artists competition of Leipzig in 2008. In 2009 he obtained the Prix de l’Académie Ravel, the Prix des Mélomanes de la Côté Sud in Saint-Jean de Luz, the 3rd Grand Prix at the Long-Thibaud Competition, the Prix de la SACEM, the Prix de la Fondation Lacroix and the Prix de l’ONF.
In 2010 he won first prize in the “Jeunes” category of the Adilia Alieva Piano Competition and first prize in the “Professionnels” category in 2016. A “Révélation classique de l’Adami” in 2010, he won the Prix Jeunes Talents in 2011, the Prix de la Fondation Safran in 2012 and was a laureate of the Fondation d’entreprise Banque Populaire in 2013. He was named “Revelation Instrumental Soloist” in 2014 at the Victoires de la Musique Classique. He has performed as a soloist on the world’s most prestigious stages and has worked with many orchestras in France and abroad. He has collaborated with such conductors as Marc Minkowski, Tugan Sokhiev, Seikyo Kim, Fayçal Karoui, Olari Elts, Joshua Dos Santos, Joshua Weilerstein, Mihhail Gerts and Pejman Memarzadeh.
His chamber music partners have included Augustin Dumay, Renaud Capuçon, Lise Berthaud, Edgar Moreau, Jean-François Heisser, David Kadouch, Adam Laloum, Jonas Vitaud and Virgile Boutellis, among others, as well as Ensemble Initium, the Hermès, Arod, Ardeo, Zaïde and Varèse quartets, and the Ensemble Aedes choir. He is a regular guest at many festivals in France. His first disc, devoted to Rachmaninov’s Preludes, was released in 2012 by Naïve. The first CD Warner Classics made with Camille and Julie Berthollet was Disque d’Or in 2015. A second CD with the same artists was released in 2016 as was a CD recorded with the violinist Virgil Boutellis-Taft, ‘Entre Orient et Occident’, on the label Evidence Classics.
Since September 2018 Guillaume Vincent has been an artist-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under the tutelage of Louis Lortie and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
